Harris Teeter to open distribution center in King George
- January 23, 2009
Harris Teeter is planning to open a food distribution center in King George County, creating 335 jobs.
The $101 million center will distribute food to stores in Virginia and expand service in Maryland and Delaware.
“The factors that attracted us to this site were its location, work-force potential and proximity to major highways that supplement our logistics network,” Larry Cooper, vice president of distribution for Harris Teeter, said in a statement.
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine approved using $200,000 to help King George with the project.
