Four Virginia schools rank high in Forbes list

Four Virginia schools ranked among the top 100 U.S. colleges listed by Forbes magazine.

Washington and Lee University ranked 15th on the annual list of “America’s Top Colleges.”

The University of Virginia ranked 36th, the College of William & Mary was 40th, and the University of Richmond was 73rd.

In addition, U.Va. and William & Mary were the top ranked public colleges on the list that were not military service academies.

The 10 top schools on the list were: Princeton University, Williams College, Stanford University, University of Chicago, Yale University, Harvard University, U.S. Military Academy (West Point), Columbia University, Pomona College and Swathmore College.

The rankings are based on quality of teaching, career prospects, high graduation rates and low-levels of debt.
