American Systems, a Chantilly IT solutions provider, received a $14.5 million contract from the Navy to provide systems engineering, technical and logistics support for secure computer networks at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific. (News release)

Bowman Consulting of Chantilly announced a deal to buy the assets of Huntley, Nyce & Associates, an engineering and planning firm in the Washington area. Huntley’s principals, Charles Huntley, Robert Sproles and Reza Hakimi will join Bowman along with other key personnel. (News release)

The ITS Corp. unit of QinetiQ North America, a Fairfax County-based defense contractor, will supply information technology services to the National Defense University under a five-year, $28 million contract.. Science Applications International Corp., a leading technology and engineering solutions provider for the government sector, will move its corporate headquarters from San Diego to McLean. SAIC will invest $25 million in the move and hire 1,200 workers over the next three years. The company already employs 17,500 people in the Washington area. (News release)
