Amerigroup Corp., a Virginia Beach-based provider of health insurance services to governments, was ranked 404th on the Fortune 500 list, based on its 2009 revenue of $5.18 billion. The company is Virginia Beach’s first Fortune 500 company and the fourth in Hampton Roads. (Inside Business)

Blackhawk Products Group, a Norfolk provider of military and security equipment, agreed to be bought by Alliant Techsystems Inc. of Minneapolis. No layoffs are expected among the 325 employees nationwide. Blackhawk will join ATK’s tactical accessories business to create a new division within the company. (Virginian-Pilot)

Liebherr Mining Equipment Co., a Newport News manufacturer of 400-ton mining trucks, will add 80 employees. Once hiring is complete, the plant will employ more than 450 people. The company will invest $15 million in the next three years to double its production. (Virginian-Pilot)

Current USA Inc., the Colorado Springs, Colo., owner of Lillian Vernon, announced plans to close the Virginia Beach-based catalog and Internet retailer. About 200 workers are employed in warehouse and call center facilities in Hampton Roads. Current will keep the Lillian Vernon brand, but customer operations in Hampton Roads will close by August 2011. (Virginian-Pilot)

Lumber Liquidators, a Toano-based retailer of hardwood flooring products, will include Canada in its announced plans to add between 36 and 40 stores this year. (Daily Press)

Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport has opened a new, $13.5 million concourse and added a new low-fare airline, Frontier Airlines. Frontier will provide four weekly flights to Denver International Airport. (Virginian-Pilot)

The Virginia Port Authority and APM Terminals have reached an agreement that will allow the VPA to lease APM Terminals’ technologically advanced terminal in Portsmouth. The agreement must still be approved by the VPA Board of Commissioners and the APM headquarters in The Hague. The deal will likely affect private bids for operating rights of the VPA.
