The Hornschuch Group plans to expand its O’Sullivan Films operation in Winchester, creating 174 new jobs.
Hornschuch, a German company that produces and markets highly technical films, will spend $28.3 million on the investment. Hornschuch purchased O’Sullivan Films earlier this year.
O’Sullivan Films produces and commercializes polymer films and finishing films for building products, consumer, health-care and automotive markets. It currently employs 375 people in Winchester.
Gov. Bob McDonnell met with Hornschuch executives during a European marketing trip he took in July.
“Governor McDonnell’s visit to our facility in July was very helpful. When a governor of a U.S. state takes the time to meet prospective investors in Europe, it sends the message that Virginia is willing to develop a working relationship with companies that will benefit the citizens of Virginia,” Rolf Gemmersdoerfer, chairman of Hornschuch said in a statement
McDonnell approved spending $300,000 from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to help Winchester with the project and $500,000 in performance-based grants from the Virginia Investment Partnership program.
