Dominion launches green programs
- May 12, 2010
Dominion Virginia Power has expanded its discounts on energy-efficient light bulbs and launched energy-saving programs that have been approved by the State Corporation Commission.
For business customers, Dominion is launching two programs. The HVAC Rewards program provides an incentive to upgrade heating, ventilation and air-conditioning to higher-efficiency systems. Its Lighting Rewards provides an incentive to retrofit inefficient lighting.
Dominion will provide a discount of $1 to $6 on energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) packages. The discounts will first be available at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club.
The utility is also launching its Smart Cooling Rewards program in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. This will allow Dominion to cycle central air conditioners and heat pump compressors of participants on and off during peak energy times.
Dominion is also launching a program to do energy audits and efficiency improvements to qualifying low-income households in specific neighborhood.
Customers interested in these programs can visit Dominion’s website or call (888) 366-8280.
