Dollar Tree completes acquisition of Canadian Dollar Giant Stores

Dollar Tree Inc. has completed its purchase of 86 Dollar Giant stores in Canada, marking its first expansion outside the U.S.
Chesapeake-based Dollar Tree purchased the stores for $52 million. Dollar Giant offers merchandise for $1.25 Canadian dollars or less. Dollar Tree’s U.S. sells its goods for $1 or less.
The Canadian stores are located in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
