Despite weak economy, employers struggle to fill key positions
- April 11, 2012
Although the country’s unemployment rate remains high, most employers still report difficulty in fulfilling key positions, according to a survey by Right Management.
According to the survey of more than 600 firms, 27 percent of employers often have trouble filling key positions while 61 percent said they have difficulty on occasion. About 13 percent said they hardly ever have key positions.
“We found an uptick in employers who report difficulty filling key positions,” said Ron Sims, Talent Management Practice Leader at Right Management. “This year it’s 27 percent, up from 23 percent last year. And there’s a corresponding drop among those who say they seldom face such a problem. This could be an indication of a strengthening job market.”
