- July 25, 2012
The Danville Regional Foundation has awarded a $10 million grant to the Southside Business Technology center to help bring entrepreneurs to the Danville area.
“The focus of this grant is attracting and retaining serial entrepreneurs, people who will create multiple new businesses over time, hiring high-skilled, high-wage employees,” DRF President & CEO Karl Stauber said in a statement.
The technology center, an organization that provided business consulting services in the region, will now focus on the recruiting, development, and retention of entrepreneurs to the area. SBTC is changing its name to reflect its new purpose and will work with the Danville Office of Economic Development on the project.
Entrepreneurs from both locally and outside of the region are eligible to receive assistance, which will include funding, training, mentoring, technical assistance and coaching.
