Tysons Corner — Hilton Hotels Corp. moved into its new world headquarters this week in Fairfax County. The hotelier is leasing 120,000 square feet on three floors at Park Place II at Tysons Corner. Developed by B. F. Saul Co., the 11-story office building is the first in the Tysons area to earn a Gold LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) from the U.S. Green Building Council. Hilton signed a 10-year lease. The building’s other tenants the law firm of Hogan & Hartson.
Fairfax — Local development firm Chalmers Property Co. bought Three Flint Hill, an eight-story, 160,000-square foot office building for an undisclosed price. The building, located at I-66 and Route 123 in Fairfax County, is part of Flint Hill Office Park. The seller was Flint Hill Limited Partnership.
Chesapeake — Eight office condominiums at The Gateway at SONO have been sold to two buyers. JAT CAT LLC purchased five units totaling 6,000 square feet for $750,000 and will operate Taylor Diagnostics from the location. The second buyer, George Pegram, bought three units of more than 3,000 square feet for $382,875 to operate an optometry office. The Gateway is a new mixed-used project with retail and office condos and residential units. Thalhimer, a member of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, handled sale negotiations.
Norfolk — Divaris Real Estate Inc. will lease and manage Three Commercial Place, one of downtown Norfolk’s premiere office towers. The blue glass façade of the 293,000-square-foot, 22-story tower is a well-known landmark. The building houses the corporate headquarters for Norfolk Southern Corp., a Fortune 500 transportation company. Other tenants are Bank of America and Cita Logistics.
Richmond — Central Virginia Health Network has leased 14,760 square feet for a Highwoods Properties building at the Innsbrook Corporate Center. Jane Dufrane represented Highwoods in the transaction. CVHN is a new Innsbrook tenant and expects to move an affiliate company, CenVaNet, into its space at 4900 Cox Road.
Chesterfield County — R. E. Michel Co. bought a 20,462-square-foot industrial property from K. B. Properties LLC for $1.6 million. R.E. Michel plans to relocate distribution operations to the two-acre property on Johnston Willis Drive
