Chesterfield Towne Center is getting a new look
- June 1, 2008
Chesterfield County’s only indoor mall, Chesterfield Towne Center, is getting a new look and several new tenants. Coldwater Creek, Barnes & Noble and Red Robin are new faces for the mall.
Meanwhile, Dillard’s closed its department store at Chesterfield in May. Women’s clothier Coldwater Creek opened last January, marking the retailer’s entry into the Chesterfield County market.
A new 32,982-square-foot Barnes & Noble opens this month, replacing the mall’s movie theatres near the food court. Barnes & Noble closed its Huguenot Road location across the street last month in anticipation of the new store.
A Red Robin restaurant, known for its gourmet burgers, also is being constructed near the food court and expects to open in August.
The addition of Barnes & Noble and Red Robin prompted another makeover. To update the mall’s exterior, Macerich, the Santa Monica, Calif.-based real estate investment trust that owns Chesterfield, is installing new sidewalks, landscaping, outward-facing shops and a small pedestrian plaza. Additionally, Macerich is constructing new restrooms and relocating mall management offices to a renovated operations building. The work should be completed by summer.
