CarMax plans to hire 1,200 people nationwide
- November 3, 2010
Richmond-based CarMax Inc. is recruiting for more than 1,200 positions at its used-car stores across the country.
The company said the new employees will fill seasonal staffing positions and jobs created by the company’s expansion plans.
CarMax recently resumed an expansion program that it had shelved during the recession. It opened stores in Augusta, Ga., in May and Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, in June. Stores in Baton Rouge, La., and Lexington, Ky., are under construction.
The company plans to open up to five stores in fiscal 2012 (which begins in March) and five to 10 in fiscal 2013. .
