- August 27, 2012
Roanoke-based Carilion Clinic has launched a MyChart app for smart phones and tablets.
MyChart provides patients secure 24/7 access to portions of their electronic medical record.
“MyChart is a convenient, easy way to manage personalized health information. Now being able to access this information via mobile devices is one more way we are trying to make healthcare management easier for our patients,” Dr. Anthony Stavola, vice chair of the department of family and community medicine at Carilion Clinic, said in a statement. “It is our hope that patients feel better connected to their health-care providers and more proactive in managing their health.”
The new mobile app allows patients to see test results, communicate with their doctor’s office via secure e-mail, view upcoming appointments, and review their medication, allergy, and immunization listings.
More than 20,000 Carilion patients use MyChart, which is offered in all Carilion primary-care practices.
