CACI to acquire Applied Systems Research
- October 26, 2010
CACI International Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire Applied Systems Research Inc. (ASR) to expand CACI’s intelligence and geospatial capabilities.
The acquisition is expected to close Nov. 1. The company did not disclose the terms of the deal.
CACI, an IT contractor based in Arlington, said the acquisition will complement the recent announcement of its intent to purchase TechniGraphics Inc., which will also expand its intelligence capabilities.
“Acquisition of Applied Systems Research is another important step in our phased and orchestrated approach to growing our intelligence business,” CACI Paul Cofoni, president and CEO, said in a statement.
ASR, headquartered in Fairfax, is expected to have revenues of $10 million in 2010.
ASR uses scientific equations to convert data into useable intelligence. Its key capabilities include radar and infrared imaging, radio frequency signatures, chemical, biological and acoustic sensors, and asymmetric threat detection methodologies.
Also, ASR provides key support to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. About 90 percent of its employees have high-level security clearances and 40 percent have master’s or doctorate degrees.
