Alexandria — Government contractor VSE Corp. has signed a 15-year lease with Metro Park 7 LLC. The lease includes the development of a new office building that will serve as the company’s headquarters. The 95,000-square-foot Class A building will be located in the Metro Park office complex in east Springfield, home to many government contractors. VSE has been at its current Alexandria location for more than 40 years. The new building, designed to meet environmentally sustainable standards, is expected to be ready by spring 2012.
Virginia Beach — Sparta, Inc. has leased 73,500 feet of industrial space at 6900 Harbour View Blvd. in Suffolk. Sparta’s businesses include strategic defense and offense systems, tactical weapons and space systems. The Suffolk location will be the company’s fourth office in Virginia.
Norfolk — Harbor Group International, owner of the World Trade Center, has retained Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate company as the building’s leasing agent. The 366,106-square-foot downtown building recently completed $5 million in renovations, including new finishes in common areas, new elevator cabs and new landscaping. Its occupancy rate is 86 percent.
Fredericksburg — Arhaus, an Ohio-based furniture store, will join the line up of retailers at The Village at Towne Centre. Arhaus will lease nearly 15,000 square feet in the newly opened village. The store is expected to be open by July 2010.
