Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. will vacate one of its McLean office buildings by the end of the year.  This will free up nearly 150,000 square feet of space it currently leases at 8251 Greensboro Drive near its Tysons Corner headquarters.

The move is part of a three-year strategy by the government consulting firm to move employees closer to clients and their homes. The company is expanding office space in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia so it can establish a network of offices that will drop an employee’s average commute time by 20 minutes each way.

While the company has not announced where employees from the vacated building will go, it recently signed two leases for 112,078-square feet of space at Dulles Overlook in Herndon and for 29,995 square feet in a 10-story, Class A building in the Capitol Riverfront District.  Jones Lang LaSalle represented Booz Allen in the transactions.
