Biomass fuel company changes its name
- September 16, 2010
Richmond-based Intrinergy Holdings LP, a biomass fuel manufacturer, has changed its name to Enviva LP.
By making this move, Intrinergy, founded in 2004, has assumed the name of its wood pellet and biomass supply division.
Enviva has operated under Intrinergy for the past three years, producing wood chips and pellets for utility, industrial and corporate customers.
The company signed a long-term, wood-pellet supply contract last month with Electrabel to supply 480,000 metric tons of wood pellets to power plants in Belgium.
Enviva also recently acquired Mississippi-based CKS Energy Inc., a privately owned wood pellet company.
