Attorney general to join Hunton & Williams
- November 13, 2009
Mims became attorney general when Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell left earlier last year to campaign for governor. Last week he was named co-chair of McDonnell’s transition team.
Mims will join the firm’s administrative law group government relations team in Washington and Richmond.
“We are privileged to have someone of Bill’s caliber join our firm,“ Wally Martinez, the firm’s managing partner, said in a statement. “Bill will be representing clients whose interests are affected by the legislative and executive branches of various state governments and the federal government, particularly in health care, competition, consumer protection, and energy.“
Before becoming attorney general, Mims served as McDonnell’s chief deputy and was a state senator from 1998 to 2005 and a delegate from 1992 and 1997.
