Architecture, engineering firms merge

Virginia Beach-based CMSS Architects has merged with Glen Allen-based engineering consulting firm Hankins and Anderson.
The new firm is called H&A Architects & Engineers.
H&A officials said the merger will allow the firm to move into architecture and private commercial projects. Hankins and Anderson has been focused primarily on government and military facilities.
H&A has offices in Virginia Beach and San Diego in addition to its corporate office in Glen Allen near Richmond. Its architectural operations will remain in Virginia Beach.
Mike Matthews is president and CEO of the combined company.
