Gateway Bank & Trust of Virginia
Beach opened offices in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, bringing its total
number of offices to 21, including 11 in Virginia. (PRNewswire)
McLane Co., a Temple, Texas-based food distributor,
plans to expand its operations in Prince William County
with a $30 million facility that will create 59 jobs
in the next four years. McLane bought 25 acres in the Premier Business Park in Manassas
for a 225,000 square-foot distribution center. The
company will move 150 workers in Manassas
to the new center when it opens in 2007. (The Washington Post)
Northrop Grumman, a defense and technology
company based in Los Angeles, will
absorb more than 800 employees of the Virginia Information
Technologies Agency as part of the Northrop's outsourcing
deal with Virginia.
After the $2 billion contract to provide IT services
to the state is fully implemented, about 236 jobs will
remain under the state technology agency. (Richmond
