In what way is the field of employee benefits changing?
“In recent years, we have seen the Department of Labor really emphasize benefit plan audit quality through its plan sponsor enforcement activities and CPA firm inspection program. The bottom line for plan sponsors is that obtaining a quality audit is a requirement. Our firm already had recognized the importance of specialization in this area and had implemented standards for audit staff training in the accounting, auditing and compliance issues, which are unique to employee benefit plans.”
