VT KnowledgeWorks and the Virginia Tech Business Technology Center have joined forces to create an entrepreneurship program serving all of Virginia.
VT KnowledgeWorks, located in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center in Blacksburg, encourages creative entrepreneurship through a curriculum of courses, local business resource centers and a global network. A subsidiary of the Virginia Tech Foundation, it is funded by clients, sponsors, corporations and individuals.
Next month VT KnowledgeWorks plans to initiate a program for Virginia Tech inventors to accelerate the process of preparing discoveries for commercial markets. Leading that effort will be Dick Daugherty, long-time director of the Virginia Tech Business Technology Center, who will serve as director of strategic services for VT KnowledgeWorks.
Details on the new program will be released early in December. In addition, Daugherty will continue to provide market research and business plan development services statewide.
VT KnowledgeWorks’ corporate sponsors include Attaain.
