Volvo to lay off more Pulaski workers than expected
April 18, 2008 9:17 AMVolvo Trucks North America will lay off 450 more workers than expected this spring at its Pulaski County plant, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported.
The company had announced last fall that it planned to lay off 650 of the 2,900 workers at the plant, but that has been expanded to 1,100 because of the weakening economy and rising fuel prices.
A company spokesman told the Times-Dispatch that some of the workers could be rehired if economic conditions improve.
