Senate subcommittee advances uranium study

A state Senate subcommittee advanced a bill to study uranium mining in Pittsylvania County on Thursday.
The bill would study whether uranium can be mined safely from a deposit in Pittsylvania estimated to be worth $10 billion. Uranium mining is currently prohibited in Virginia.
