Sage Payment Solutions, a McLean-based provider of electronic payment systems, has entered into a partnership with ROAM Data of Boston to bring mobile commerce to small and mid-sized businesses.
The partnership will allow Sage customers to expand their payment options by accepting credit and debit cards on mobile phones and other mobile computing devices, including Apple’s iPhone and iPad, Motorola’s Droid and Research in Motion’s Blackberry.
As part of the deal, ROAM Data’s mobile payment application is being integrated to Sage Exchange, the company’s secure, payment application platform. The idea behind merging the technologies is to level the playing field for small and mid-sized businesses that might not have the infrastructure to accept credit/debut card payments.
“We’re proud to enhance their offerings with our secure, low-cost mobile commerce solution that lets Sage customers conveniently do business wherever and whenever, with their mobile phones, tablets or PCs,” Will Graylin, Roam’s CEO, said in a statement.
