The Peterson Cos. announced Monday the first wave of retailers and restaurants to sign leases for Promenade at Virginia Gateway, a 300,000-square-foot lifestyle center under construction in Gainesville. The Prince William County project under development by Peterson Cos. will be anchored by a 14-screen Regal Movie Theater. It’s slated to open in Fall 2013.

Promenade is the lifestyle component of the Virginia Gateway mixed-use project, which offers more than 1 million square feet of retail, restaurants, office and hotel space.
In addition to the Regal Theater, retailers at Promenade will include Ann Taylor Loft, White House | Black Market and Soma, stores that offer women’s fashion apparel. La Tagliatella, a European-based Italian restaurant with130 locations in Europe and Asia, also is coming. The Promenade location will be one of the first 10 to open in the U.S. It will join other restaurants, including Bar Louis, Nando’s Peri Peri and Pinkberry.

“Promenade at Virginia Gateway represents a $70 million private investment that will create over 700 jobs and generate millions in tax revenue for our community,” Wally Covington, a member of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, said in a statement. “It further demonstrates the important role high-end commercial retail plays in our economic development plan to fuel the local economy, lower tax rates and attract new business to the area.”
