Martinsville homebuilder lays off 80

A builder of modular homes will lay off 80 workers, the Martinsville Bulletin reported.
Nationwide Custom Homes said Tuesday that it had laid off about 25 percent of its Martinsville work force.
The cuts came after sales in the region declined by 30 percent last year. The trend is expected to continue in 2008.
