Granby Towers general contractor files liens against developer
March 07, 2008 9:08 AM

The general contractor for Granby Towers has filed liens in a Norfolk Circuit Court to receive $16 million for work it already completed, The Virginian-Pilot reported.

The $138 million project, which included a 31-story tower, parking garage and townhouses, stalled last fall.

Turner Construction Co. has said it is owed the money by developers of the project.

Subcontractors and equipment owners have already filed liens totaling $3 million against the company for work it did on the project.

Developer Buddy Gadams says he has investment firms lined up to finance the project, but financing has taken longer to acquire because of the current credit markets.
