Dominion Payroll Services (DPS), Richmond’s largest independent payroll and human resource provider, will open a Charlotte, N.C., office on June 1. The expansion comes just before DPS celebrates its 10th anniversary in August.
Tim Whaley, a seven-year veteran of the Richmond office, will head the new operation in Charlotte. It represents DPS’s fourth office, with current locations in Richmond, Nashville and Tampa.
In its first decade, DPS has experienced steady growth, starting with one client and growing to more than 1,500 clients. The company ranked on the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies for 2010 and 2011.
According to co-owners David Gallagher and David Fratkin, DPS has seen more than a 25 percent increase in sales each of the last three years.
“We are carefully selecting locations where we can provide the high level of customer service, which has been our core value since we opened,” Gallagher said in a statement.
DPS employs 30 people and offers payroll services as well related human resource and time and attendance products.
