Communications Test Design will open a Chesapeake operation that will employ 50

Communications Test Design Inc., a global provider of repair and logistics services to the communications industry, has leased 72,558 square feet of distribution space in the Indian River Distribution Center in Chesapeake. It plans to renovate and upgrade the property into an operation that will employ about 50 people with an average salary of $40,000.
The West Chester, Pa.-based company provides repair and logistics services to major telecom carriers and cable companies, including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Time Warner Cable and Cox. Altogether, it operates 45 global facilities staffed by 5,000 employees with locations in North America, Europe, Asia and Brazil.
“CTDI’s decision to invest and bring jobs to Chesapeake is exciting news for our community,” Steven Wright, director of Chesapeake’s Department of Economic Development, said in a statement. “By choosing Chesapeake, CTDI will strengthen their distribution/logistics network and access global markets right here from Chesapeake.”
Stephanie Sanker, a senior vice president with Norfolk-based S. L. Nusbaum Realty Co., represented the tenant in the transaction along with Jackson Cross Partners LLC.
