Books-A-Million to replace Joseph-Beth Booksellers
June 14, 2011 3:43 PMOne book store is closing, but another one will open in the same space at The Village at Towne Centre near Fredericksburg. Books-A-Million plans to open a new store by Aug. 1 in the 26,000-square foot-space currently occupied by the former Joseph-Beth store. Joseph-Beth Booksellers filed for Chapter 11 protection in November 2010, and the company is closing out its retail operation in Virginia. Books-A-Million is America’s third-largest book retailer, with more than 200 stores in 23 states and the District of Columbia. The Village at Towne Centre is located in the open-air section of Spotsylvania Towne Centre, at the junction of Interstate 95 and Route 3.
