Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc. has purchased Fru-Con, a water and wastewater infrastructure contractor from Germany-based Bilfinger-Berger.
The acquisition will combine the expertise of a water and wastewater specialist with the knowledge of a local civil engineer, according to Balfour Beatty CEO Ray Bond.
“We plan to draw on this combined skill set to grow further into the mid-Atlantic and California markets, as well as other regions including the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, and Texas, in order to service their growing infrastructure needs,” Bond said.
Fru-Con will retain its name and will be led by Michael R. Fischer, vice president of Fru-Con. The company, which builds water and wastewater treatment plants has annual revenues of about $80 million.
