Accenture to relocate to a smaller office in Northern Virginia
- September 15, 2011
At a time when many companies are taking advantage of a tenant’s market to trade up to more spacious quarters, Accenture PLC is downsizing. The consulting company plans to move its Northern Virginia office from Reston Town Center to a space in a new building at 800 Glebe Road in Arlington that’s roughly half the size.
With many of the company’s employees working off site or from home, Accenture officials says the company doesn’t need as much space as before. It will take about 100,000 square feet at the JBG Cos. building, a 316,000-square-foot project that’s under construction.
Employees aren’t expected to make the move until next year. Accenture has about 4,000 employees in the Washington, D. C., metro area, but not all of them will work from the site. Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, with more than 223,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries.
