Sands Anderson lawyer named president of local women’s bar group

Sands Anderson lawyer Jayne Pemberton was named president of the Richmond Metropolitan Women’s Bar Association.

“Jayne continues to show her excellent leadership skills in both her professional and community service and we are proud of the role she has accepted among members of our local women’s bar,” firm president M. Pierce Rucker said in a statement.

Pemberton is a litigator for companies, insurers and individuals on a variety of business matters and insurance claims.

Pemberton earned her bachelor and master degrees from Baylor University and her law degree at the University of Richmond School of Law. She is Board of Directors president for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Virginia and has chaired or co-chaired many committees and events with the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, the Bar Association of the City of Richmond and the Virginia State Bar’s Litigation Section.
