Two women executives have been named to top roles at McLean-based Gannett Co. Inc., a Fortune 500 company.
Gracia Martore was promoted to president and chief executive officer. She had been president and chief operating officer.
Marjorie Magner, a managing director at New York-based private-equity firm Brysam Global Partners, has been named chairman of the board. She has served on the board since 2006.
They are filling vacancies caused by the departure of Craig Dubow, the company’s former CEO and chairman. He resigned in October for medical reasons.
Martore already had served as acting CEO since Sept. 15 when Dubow announced a leave of absence. She also ran the company when Dubow took a four-month leave of absence after back surgery in 2009.
