Virginia Beach-based Amerigroup Corp. has named former Treasury Secretary John W. Snow and retired Admiral Joseph W. Prueher to its board of directors.
In addition, Nicholas J. Pace was appointed executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. He joined the company in 2006 as senior vice president and deputy general counsel.
Snow was Treasury secretary under President George W. Bush. Before that, he was chairman, president and CEO of CSX Corp. He is currently president of JWS Associates LLC, a Richmond-based consulting firm.
Prueher served 35 years in the Navy where he was commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Command. He also was ambassador to China under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. He now is the James R. Schlesinger Distinguished Professor at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center of Public Affairs.
