Advance Auto Parts Inc. has named Bill Carter senior vice president, commercial.
Carter will be responsible for development and implementation of the company’s commercial sales strategy and program.
“As pleased as we are with the tremendous growth in commercial sales and market share over the last three years, we recognize the huge opportunity still ahead of us,” Jim Wade, president of Advance Auto, said in a statement. “Even with 11 consecutive quarters of double-digit commercial comp sales growth, we still hold only 5 percent of the over $40 billion market that is available to us.”
Carter most recently was a partner at Bain & Co., where he led growth strategy, operations improvement and organizational projects. Before his work at Bain, he served in the U.S. Navy. Carter will relocate from Atlanta to Roanoke.
Advance Auto, based in Roanoke, is an automotive retailer of parts, batteries, accessories and maintenance items.
