To the Editor,
The proposed Virginia Center for Health Innovation is tremendously exciting [“There’s got to be a better way,” September issue]. The center would provide a unique path for innovative thinking and collaborative work on solutions to the current health-care cost and outcome environment that is crippling business. These hurdles are keeping clinicians, employers, patients and our entire commonwealth from realizing the great potential of our health system.
Just as we delayed too long to retool our automotive manufacturing, we cannot delay longer in finding solutions to keep our dedicated employees healthy and productive; and allow our businesses to keep themselves innovative and competitive. The center is an opportunity of a lifetime for all Virginians who share a commitment to health and the economic viability of our commonwealth.
