Wineries Unlimited trade conference to return to Richmond next year
May 13, 2011 10:36 AM

Wineries Unlimited announced plans this week to bring its industry trade show and conference back to Richmond next year,  following an increase in attendees and vendors at this year’s event.

Wineries Unlimited moved its conference, which attracts wine professionals from all over the East Coast, to Richmond from King of Prussia, Pa. this year. As a result, the number of conference attendees doubled and the number of vendor booths increased 22 percent. The 2011 conference brought 2,100 visitors and $1.3 million in revenue to Virginia, according to the governor’s office.

“Virginia’s proactive support of the Eastern Wine Industry has been impressive,” Robert Merletti, publisher of Vineyard & Winery Management magazine, said in a statement. “The great service and enthusiasm we received from Gov. Bob McDonnell all the way to the floor of the Greater Richmond Convention Center has prompted us to renew our commitment in Richmond for 2012.”

The Wineries Unlimited Trade Show and Conference will be held March 27-29, 2012 at the Richmond Convention Center.
