Wheeler REIT purchases Georgia property
December 31, 2012 1:17 PMWheeler Real Estate Investment Trust Inc. of Virginia Beach has purchased a shopping center in Hawkinsville, Ga., for $2.3 million.
Wheeler REIT, which specializes in owning, acquiring, financing, developing and managing income-producing properties, purchased the 42,680-square-foot grocery-anchored retail store from Wheeler Interest LLC, an affiliate of the company. The plaza is 100 percent leased and is shadow-anchored by Ace Hardware.
Surrey Plaza marks Wheeler REIT’s third acquisition since its initial public offering in November. The REIT now has 11 properties in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma and Georgia.
