Virginia State University is a partner in a $400 million federal contract supporting the U.S. Army’s IT system.
The contract is led by Arlington-based Tantus|OnPoint, a joint venture involving Tantus Technologies Inc. and OnPoint Consulting Inc.
In addition to Tantus|OnPoint and VSU, the team of contractors includes the University of Texas at El Paso, a large IT company; five small businesses; three, small, disadvantaged businesses; two, women-owned, small businesses; four, service-disabled veteran-owned, small businesses; one, veteran-owned, small business; and one, Hub Zone small business.
Under the terms of a subcontracting agreement recently signed between VSU and OnPoint, the university will have the opportunity to work in the following task areas: information assurance (IA), independent verification and validation (IV&V), Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), migration / integration IT services and warranty and maintenance. The work location will be determined with each task order.
The VSU subcontract administrator and technical representative for the contract is Dr. Godwin Mbagwu, director for the VSU Center for Biophotonics and Biodevices.
