Virginia Tech opens new visitor and undergraduate admissions center
- August 3, 2011
Just in time for the new school year, Virginia Tech officials have opened a $10.5 million visitor and undergraduate admissions center. The 18,155-square-foot, two-story building is located on Prices Fork Road next to the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. The center, done in Virginia Tech’s signature Hokie stone, offers an assembly hall and interactive kiosks and exhibits on the university’s research, academics, student life and history. It consolidates offices previously related to visitor information, campus tours and parking passes. Typically, Virginia Tech sees more than 50,000 visitors a year. The architect for the project was Glave & Holmes Architecture in Richmond. The construction cost was $7.2 million, and the project’s total budget was $10.5 million.
