Virginia companies make military-friendly employers list

Ten Virginia-based companies have been named to 2011 Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list compiled by GI Jobs magazine.

McLean-based Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. claimed the top spot followed by Fairfax-based ManTech International Corp. at No. 2.

Ranked No. 5 was CACI International Inc., based in Arlington

The list showcases the top 2 percent of veteran-friendly companies in the U.S. The ranking includes companies with at least $500 million in annual revenue that have shown an appreciation for prior military service among their employees.

Criteria for the rankings includes: assets dedicated to military hiring (28 percent), Reserve/Guard policies (18 percent), percentage of new hires who are veterans (14 percent), veteran training programs (10 percent) and previous three years’ rankings (30 percent).
