UnitedHealthcare officially opened its expanded Roanoke site with a ribbon cutting and reception on Monday.
The expansion project, which began in March, increases the health benefits company’s space in Roanoke from 53,000 to 85,000 square feet.
Bigger quarters will allow the company to add 125 more jobs in the region by the end of 2012. The company already has hired 107 full-time employees this year.
The Roanoke site now has nearly 500 full-time employees, about 100 of whom work from home.
Roanoke employees are involved in a variety of functions in the company’s Medicare and retirement area, including customer care, telesales and broker support.
