Law firm Troutman Sanders LLP is expanding its Norfolk-based maritime practice to its Hong Kong office, with the hiring of three new attorneys.
“This expansion gives Troutman Sanders a presence in one of the world’s most influential shipping regions and significantly boosts the firm’s maritime experience,” said John Holloway, a partner and leader of the firm’s Maritime Law & Government Contracts practice group.
The firm’s maritime lawyers represent clients in litigation or arbitration and charter agreement, marine insurance and vessel financing/sales transactions.
The new hires include Ronald Sum, who specializes in maritime, transportation and logistics law.
He will join the Hong Kong office as a partner.
Sum previously served as a partner at Blank Rome LLP in Hong Kong.
The firm also hired Grace Hou as a senior associate. She’s a PRC maritime law specialist with more than 10 years of experience.
Vivian Ma will join the Hong Kong office as an associate.
