Troutman Sanders LLP, an Atlanta-based law firm with four offices in Virginia, has launched an electronic data management subsidiary called eMerge.
The firm said eMerge will provide consulting, project management and technology services related to the preservation, collection, processing, hosting, review, and production of electronically stored information in litigation and internal/governmental investigations.
Alison Grounds is managing Partner of eMerge and co-leader of the firm’s E-Discovery & Data Management practice.
“The ever-increasing volumes of data generated by our clients, coupled with the constantly evolving legal and technical issues associated with e-discovery, require appropriately trained personnel and technology,” Grounds said in a statement.
“Our mission is to leverage technology to reduce irrelevant data and get to the relevant documents efficiently,” she added. “This reduces manual review costs and wasted fees in hosting junk.”
Troutman Sanders has 600 lawyers practicing in the United States and China.
The firm’s Virginia offices are in Richmond, Norfolk, Tysons Corner and Virginia Beach.
They employ 156 lawyers, according to a Virginia Business survey published in March, making the law firm the fifth largest in the commonwealth.
