Tech to build research center in Arlington
June 17, 2008 7:58 AMVirginia Tech is planning to open a research center in Arlington County as part of the school’s efforts to increase its influence in the Washington area, according to The Washington Post.
The center will bring 150 researchers and staff to the area. The center would study issues such as transportation, public health and national security.
The Virginia Tech Foundation will fund the $80 million, seven-story center. The newly created nonprofit Ballston Science and Technology Alliance, would occupy the first floor.
