Suffolk Construction, based in Falls Church, announced that its mid-Atlantic Region was selected by INOVA Health System to build the new $16 million INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital Medical Office Building IV in Fairfax. The company said it got the nod because of its award-winning national experience in health-care construction combined with a local team experienced in healthcare construction management.
The new medical office building will have four stories and a shell totaling 115,000 square feet. In addition, the project will include a below-grade level, designed and constructed for a future radiation/oncology imaging suit. There also will be a new campus entrance on Rugby Road, site clearing and construction of additional surface parking, installation of site lighting and traffic signals and site improvements. Suffolk Construction plans to break ground in mid-June, and the building will open in June 2013.
The medical office building plans to pursue LEED Silver certification. Besides Suffolk Construction Mid-Atlantic, other companies on the project team will include development consultant, Sittler Development Associates LLC of Reston; project architect, Architecture Inc. of Reston; and civil engineer, Dewberry & Davis LLC of Fairfax.
