Cadence Inc. plans to spend $15.9 million to expand its operations in Staunton, creating 65 new jobs over the next three years.
The company, formerly known as Specialty Blades, is a manufacturer of precision cutting and piercing instruments used in industrial, medical and life science industries.
“This major expansion represents another significant step on our journey of solid growth,” Peter Harris, Cadence’s CEO, said in a statement. “Partnering with our state and local officials to make this happen enables our ongoing commitment to precision and repeatability in everything we do for our customers, shareholders, and employees.”
Gov. Bob McDonnell approved a $150,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to help Staunton with the project.
Virginia competed against Costa Rica for the project.
