Fairfax-based SRA International plans to acquire the National Security Solutions business of McLean-based MorganFranklin, a privately held consulting and technology solutions firm.
SRA, a technology and strategic consulting services company that serves government agencies, said it has signed a definitive agreement to buy the business, adding it would complement SRA’s existing portfolio of services. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
“The MorganFranklin National Security Solutions business is a great fit for SRA,” SRA President and CEO Bill Ballhaus said in a statement. “This team brings world-class capabilities in a number of technical and functional domains and a strong professional reputation for surpassing customer expectations that will result in strategic growth opportunities for SRA.”
The deal will add 180 new employees to SRA’s work force of 5,800. The majority of the MorganFranklin’s National Security Solutions employees work at client locations in the Washington, D.C., area and Tampa, Fla.
SRA said the MorganFranklin employees have extensive expertise in tactical command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities, continuity of operations (COOP) and emergency planning, information assurance and cyber security, intelligence analysis, and project management office (PMO) support.
The deal is expected to be completed in December.
SRA offers IT solutions and professional services in such areas as information technology lifecycle services; cloud and mobile computing; cyber security; solutions development and integration; and, strategy development and organizational change management.
